Wow this is huge, congratulations and thank you to the promotors.

It's events like this which will take the sport forward in this country.

Giving fight fans a chance to see superstars like sanchai fight live and Irish fighters a chance to fight on the same card.

Not vetting coaches, charging fighters for books and making referees and judges wear shirts and matching dickey bows.

with respect Eddie I wouldnt want to turn this thread into an us versus them routine as so often happens. an awful lot of work has gone into this show and I believe everyone in the Irish thai boxing community should support it, oppurtunities to see elite fighters as these are rare enough it would be a shame for anyone to miss it

Only a week away. Looking forward to it. Many travelling?

Wonder will Damo and Ivor be back this time? That was the high point last time.

I know a few people from my gym who are fairly excited at the prospect of Rungravee and Saenchai appearing in Cork.

Haha I hope not, that really wasn't my cup of tea. Each to their own though I suppose, if it helped sell tickets so we can bring over bigger names for Irish fighters to fight then I'd be prepared to put up with it.

Can not wait to see Rung vs James. Looking forward to seeing Shane Broderick too, that guy is huge for 59kg. Looking like a great show

no Damo and Ivor, we feel Saenchai and Runravee will provide enough entertainment, Shane Broderick is fighting at 64kgs for this one against Dom Kelly.

Ah ok, I must have got my wires crossed somewhere, thought he fought lighter

Shanes original fight was at 59, when his opponent pulled out the next match was at a heavier weight, Your right though Pat he's one of the tallest fighters around at that weight, should be an excellent fight between him and Dommie. As well as having the Superstars on we really feel we've some serious domestic matches on this show as well. The Cork V Cork matches will create a great atmosphere, and the Dubs always bring it

I think Cian Cowley will go through Gar Byrne

Great night again. Some really good fights.

Saenchai was amazing. Pure entertainment. We even got a bit of Gagnam style!!! :)

Massive crowd and great atmosphere. Looking forward to the next one already.

Sum night for one night.. unforgettable :)

Absolutely amazing show, ran like clockwork too with all the fights running back to back.

Both surprised and delighted that Rung smashed Dean too, makes Meleadys very close decision against Rung all that much more impressive.

Not in my eyes..rung fought at 57 last night..don't meleady fight at 61...to me it shows how good rung is giving up weight to farang and only 23/4..hope we see him back again...

Not quite sure I follow you... Rung didn't smash Dean in your eyes? Looked fairly convincing from where I was sitting but then again I wasn't trying to score it, just enjoying it if that makes sense. Cracking fight either way

That was pretty horrible. As was the cut over Aarons eye.

Re the sound - it was a million times better than the last few times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,672 ✭✭✭Peetrik

    1) We couldn't hear a word the ring announcer was saying - at all.
    2) There was a fire alarm going off for a whole fight, it was going off before the fight started and the fight went still went ahead.

Thought the sound was better than the last one myself.

Haha I noticed the fire alarm actually, I thought it was hilariously Irish of everyone to ignore it and for the show to go on lol. I suppose if the staff knew it was just someone opened a fire escape or whatever then its grand, no need to put the fighters through the hassle of standing out in the cold before going back in to fight.

Yeah unfortunate for the guy to fall out of the ring, the lower ropes looked a bit loose. That particular fight looked like it was only going one way though

That Ricky sewell fella was really impressive. Great show with some really good fights. Dean just couldnt get the knees going in the clinch rung was an absolute animal. And Sanchai done exactly what he does ha was great seeing him live.

Ste smashed rungs 2 ribs as far as I remember and was a very close fight with some people thinking Ste won the fight..plus Ste fights at 59 to 62 as far as I know so don't think there was a major weight difference...and most Thais give a little weight advantage as they have way more fights/experience

Really enjoyed the show, the only thing i would say was i thought the DJ had the music way to loud during the fights. I would much prefer the noise of a round house meeting the ribs :). Also credit to the refs, who knew when to step in when some of the lads where getting a going over in the clinch.

Only independent org for refs... they r good alright imo

Best show yet ran like clockwork seamless from one fight to the next great fights and a real experience to see Saenchai live and how he fairly easily dealt with a top level fighter like Bennoui. Rungravee fairly smashed James as well without having to up the gears. atmosphere was incredible, congrats to Martin Horgan and Siam Warriors on Irelands best ever Muay Thai show by a country mile, how will he top this one ....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 146 ✭✭alanrebelsw

Sumthing i want to know as well! How do you top saenchai? I don't know and for the life of me can't think of anyone to top saenchai...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

You don't top Saenchai. I am sure that the next card will be very solid again and we will all come away happy though.
