So a few of my friends are heading over to the US for the summer on J1s. I want to go with them but the problem is that I've dropped out of college and I'm currently in full time employment. Is there any visa I can get so I can work for a few months over there?

Short answer is no, not really in your situation.

No. You can join them for 90 days on the visa waiver program, but cannot work.
