Evaporator on 2000 Honda CRV

A friend of mine has a 2000 CRV that needs a new evaporator fitted as the original one has a hole in it.

I've heard it needs to be accessed via the passenger footwell. Just wondering if anyone has any experience replacing one on this vehicle? Or any advice for evaporator replacement in general, in particular to replacing o-rings? Thanks for the help.

Edit: Mods, can you please change title to read Evaporator on 2000 Honda CRV. Thanks.

I've been doing some research on this job and came across a CRV service manual. It's pretty comprehensive for the 1997 - 2000 models (RD1-RD3).

Looking at the section for evaporator removal, either the manual is not descriptive enough or removal is an absolute piece of cake.
