Log book GVW is wrong

I'm looking to get a set of alloys for my T4 transporter. The steel wheel are badly rusted and tyres need to be changed. The alloys off a VW sharan people carrier fit no problem and have a sufficient load rating but I'm trying to figure out if I need to change the tyres.

According to the log book my Gross Vehicle Weight is 2730kg meaning I need a tyre load rating of 95, which is the same as the tyres already on the sharan alloys. However this 2730kg was for a pre 98 T4. My actual GVW is 2840kg meaning I need at least a 96 load rating.

The question is will the DOE test centre test realise this and fail the 95 rated tyres?

Good chance they will - my van failed over similar issue last year. Also the tyres need a "c" rating for commercial

Last 3 years DOE certs say 2730kg D.G.V.W.

Are you positive they have to be c-rated. I thought as long as there load rated they would pass. Couldn't see it anywhere in the DOE manual.

Cheers, I couldn't find anything definite on it. That puts the alloys plan on the shelf. Two tyres for the steelies on monday.
