    For the sake of €30 odd why wouldn't you verify it's history? I'd get a competent person to check the car over also. It's not like main dealers don't make mistakes.

    Simi dealerships need to run checks anyway - you can ask for a cert.

    I guess there is a re-assurance with running an independent check but I am leaning towards it being moot and assuming the SIMI check is kosher.

    SIMI is a trade organisation for garages. It's not in the slightest consumer orientated. It's up to you but €35 isn't that much when buying a car and it'll give you piece of mind.
