    Diesel and petrol oils have different qualities so I avoid using any oil that states one size fits all.

    20w50 dinosaur oil must have a very limited market.

    It's a very thick oil, which many use in "classic" cars. The oil in that link is cheap (and maybe nasty too?).

    p.s. I've used Halfords own brand classic mineral oil for the last couple of changes.

    Back in the 70's that was the standard oil used in most cars. Like treacle compared to what's commonplace these days.

    Yep, nice and treacly, just the job for Rover V8s and LT95 transmissions both of which are in my 101. The real cheap stuff is fine if it meets the specs, I pay €12 a gallon for it.

    It's really meant just for classic petrol engines, you put a modern oil in a basic 60/70s engine and they sound like a bag of nails

    Carlube oils are fine, they're made in the UK.


    20W50 is usually used in older cars. And in our tractor. :D

    yup its for classics, picked up a gallon in halfrauds yesterday as i was stuck for some, makes old rattly engines sound good!!!
