Weird chemical smell inside car.

I have an odd problem, since last Thursday there is a very strong chemical smell inside my Chrysler Voyager. It's smells like solvent or cleaning fluids but it's definetly not fuel or coolant.
The smell is persistent even when the engine isn't running/hot and is very strong even after the car has been parked up for overnight.
I have searched all over the car if there has been anything spilled but haven't been able to locate any specific source.
I am at a loss to what it can be and wonder if anyone on this forum might have a reasonable idea as to what could be causing this.

    Don't suppose it's the screenwash?

That's one of the things I thought of but it's an 02 car and the aircon hasn't functioned or been used in ages.

No, checked that already. This is a really, really strong smell.

Would that give of a strong chemical smell even after the car has been parked up overnight? Surely not?

Ya it could the smell just stays in the car, weird smell can also be caused by wiring overheating but I'm sure you would be in a fire situation if the smell persisted

A dead rodent in the engine bay can give off what smells like a chemical smell.

Leaking heater matrix? You'd have coolant smell in the car.
