I was wondering if people could take the time to complete this quick survey about how people engage with their community? It will take less than 2 mins.

Its a piece of research that looks at the feasibility of using crowd-sourced submissions of community tasks (e.g. cutting of grass, collecting of litter or leaves, maintaining common areas, fixing damaged plants/flower beds, removing graffiti etc.). All of which will be geo-tagged (recording a physical location on a map) and can include pictures and other information. The basic principal being that people would give some of their free time and services to help maintain their community if they are aware of what they could do. The research will focus on the suitability or otherwise of Ushahidi as a platform for this purpose under the question ‘Local engagement through task visualisation and mapping in Ushahidi’. Ushahidi is a free, open-source software platform which enables crowd-sourced mapping for the purpose of visualisation. Items can be logged via smartphone, twitter, email, text or web. This allows the community as a whole to crowd-source tasks to be tackled in their area.

An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
