Another lovely example of how stupid and careless an Irish bank was! how can the senior management claim anything but criminal neglect when this type of thing was allowed to go unchecked, and more worryingly, how much more of this went on?

"It almost beggars belief senior management chose to disregard that warning and rushed to complete the deal at all costs.

The banks knew full well they could do what they liked, I mean they have everyone's money. If they collapse, the ATMs stop working. Some jumped up solicitor in charge of the economy isn't going to know enough to refuse them when they come looking for the bailout, even if he was from "a good family".

Cant believe more not being said about this, 4th story on bbc news, watching rte news, 6.30 still no mention of how one of our main banks was conned out of 700 hundred million, are the staff involved in this still working or retired ? Ah sure didn't we all make mistakes, my mistake cost me €2 for petrol going to the polling booth, was this aib's biggest mistake or have they better ones hidden behind the radiator.
I really do dispair for our country. Onto the sports now on rte news but still no mention of AIB,
