I've about 500 euro to spend on spanners , screwdrives and a few other bits for the garage. I've always been a Facom fan, and maybe Sata to a small extent. Couple of the lads swear by Snap On, but the price always put me off ..... Though Facom is getting dear now too.

    Any suggestions folks? And suppliers?
Bear in mind these are for daily , trade use.
I know Teng and Draper are cheaper , but I've never felt them to be as good. And I thought Britool seem to have gone down a but too.

    TIA.

I work in France quite a lot so i have mostly facom. i have snap on ratchets and sockets, bought from ebay.com. I have the twisty handle Facom 1/4 drive ratchet that thing is legendary and has got me out of a few tight spots.

Facom spanners bought in France, Facom ratchets spanners bought on ebay.co.uk. Facom toolbox bought from the Facom dealer in rathcoole in Dublin. He's very slow to deliver and is very expensive.

I've gotten a few snapon bits off the snapon van man in Dublin he calls around every now and again. I've Facom screwdrivers bought in France. I have a few koken bits aswell, tiny stubby ratchet, speedbrace, they are Japanese make and are as good or better quality than snapon, hard to get though.

I am always watching ebay for tools new and second hand, lot of value to be had second hand if they ate looked after. I got a lot of craftsman stuff from ebay.com from usa i use these for guntering and beating or wherever i wouldn't put a snapon socket. craftsman have a basic and a better quality line and are good cheap tools.

Id recommend you stick to Facom and snapon stuff for your basic tools at least.

Cheers. I just find the Facom spanners and screwdrivers really nice to use.

I've used Teng since I started in the trade and I wouldn't use anything else for standard hand tools. Never had a bother with any of them or getting things replaced under the warranty if something did break.

A relative of mine has been using teng for years and finds them very good. He has a teng socket set which he has had for well over 15 years and they are still going even though they are well used.

I'm the same, I still have the first teng box I bought nearly 13 years ago with most of its original tools still in it. Its not used everyday any more but I still use it in the garage at home regularly.

I've a mix of stuff built up over the years, I tend to buy tools each month either to replace broke/lost/worn out or to keep up with new stuff that's needed.

For the heavy use stuff I use Snap On, not cheap but really dependable and a no quibble warranty. Buy them on offer. The downside is that you need a regular call from their rep.

I have quite a lot of Britool also, never had a problem with any of it, reasonably priced. I'm still using a 1/2" clutch drive ratchet/hammer/lever that I bought in the 80's...

Have Teng stuff as well, most of it is good, found their ratchets rubbish though.

Sealey are very good value for specialised kit, seem to be the same stuff as Draper/Sykes/Blue Point only in a different box and reasonably priced, some of their stuff now comes with a lifetime warranty.

    Cheers

Might seem odd but Chadwicks do some good deals on decent tools from time to time.....

Does anyone know where the hell to get a MINI dent puller? (approx 63mm)

I have a 4.5inch one at the moment but it's too big, I've tried getting one from amazon but they won't deliver it here -.-

I've tried halfords & B&Q as well as some small motor factors.

Any ideas where I can get one of these? It's for my front wing
