    Hey

Saw this today in the Irish Independent.
    http://www.arnotts.ie/Product/Italsofa-I239-2-Seat-Sofa/343736/450400500

Looks like a really nice sofa, and a good reduction. Do ye think its good value?

I could get it, but it would involve me putting off buying my new TV this month. Not sure how quickly something like this will go out of stock.

Personally, I find that an awful lot of money for a 2 seat sofa.
But if you like it AND you have the money, why not.
I don't know the brand or anything, so I couldn't say if it's good value. You'll have to make up your own mind how long you want that sofa to last for. 2 years ? 5, 10 or 20 ?
    It is all relative. :)

Thanks LaChatteGitane. Yea, 800 is expensive all right. I might try to get out to Arnotts at the weekend to have a look at it, and see what the quality is like. If I like it I think it would be worth it. I have been putting up with my parents hand me down sofa for 5 years. I was happy to get that, but it was 7 years old at the time, and its only getting more broke up since.

Think its time for an investment. I would say 10 years at lest per sofa :)

Having visited the Arnotts showroom looking at suites etc recently, I will say that the ItalSofa products were good quality. I did focus on leather though.

While we love the look of fabric, we've 2 kids that have thrown everything at our current leather suite and never done any permanent damage.

There is a big issue in Ireland though that anything that could be described as contemporary in design, is really very expensive.

I happen to really like the look of the sofa and at 800 I would buy if it was right for our needs. You do need to go sit on it though.

Thanks Sas. Im going over there this evening after work to have a sit in it, see how it feels. No kids, but I would be clumsy enough myself tbf. Its joining a 3 seater black leather sofa in the sitting room, so it might be actually worth my while checking out leather.

The leather sofa is a much nicer hand me down from my parents. Looks great, but I hate sitting in leather.

Update on this. Went to have a look at it yesterday, for the price of it, its pretty cheapish looking. Bad material, structure looks a bit weak etc. Certainly not worth €800.

Guess its time to put a throw over my current sofa and appreciate the €800 Ive just saved :D
