Duty Free in Dublin - travelling to US via London

    Hi All,
The lady at the Duty Free in Dublin said that I can buy spirits at duty free prices in Dublin and they get put in a special security sealed bag. This should allow me to carry the bottle with me while I transit to the US via London.

I wanted to double check with all you wise folk as I have heard stories of peoples duty free being confiscated at the transit security.

Any ideas on whether I can buy duty free spirits and transit to the US via London without loosing my duty free?

I think you can leave it at Dublin airport and collect it on way back if you want.If it is a gift for someone in the U.S. you could always buy more in flight.
Not 100% on this but worth a try.;)

What exactly are you buying, if it's not Irish whiskey it might be cheaper to either buy in London, on the plane from London or on arrival in the US.

"duty-free" can often be a bit of a con.
