Golf Car Door Not Opening

The driver door on my golf mark 5 won't open from the inside.

There is no resistance when I pull the lever almost like there is no mechanism attached to it.

The door opens fine from the outside.

Any idea of what the issue is? Is it a big job to repair or is this something I could chance myself?

    Thanks

    You've answered your own question.
The wire/cable connecting the door handle to the lock mechanism has come apart.
I'm not sure about a golf but if you've got the tools and the time it can be done yourself usually involving removing of the door card and just connecting the two back up again.
Then again it might be something broken too.
Up to you what you are comfortable with.

Thanks man. I've no real experience with cars but I'd be mechanically minded enough and willing to give this a go if I had the tools as you say.

Any guides out there on how to cleanly remove the door panel? Should be able to figure it out from there.

    Thanks

Have you checked that the child lock isn't engaged?

The door panel should be really easy to remove... just take care not to break any too many of the stupid plastic clips.
Look online for a photo of maybe tutorial to see where they are on your car.

Thanks guys. Not the child lock!

Will have a Google and see if I can get some photos on removing the door panel. Should be good to go after that.
