Library books with physical date due stamps on them

    Dunno if this is retro,but I came across this book with date stamps going back to 1979!
    Seems last person borrowing it has library dues going back to 1989!

    Yep, I remember sitting down with a jar of paste and a brush sticking new labels onto books back in the good old days!

    The date label was a great visual record of how popular a book was - there were books that hadn't been borrowed in years, books that were borrowed once or twice a year and others that needed new labels every couple of weeks!

    Yup, quite often when I didn't really know what I was looking for in the library, I picked a book simply because it appeared to have been rented almost every two weeks. I'd know nothing about the author or the book itself
