Not missing Irish channels

We refused to buy a saorview box or a new tv for the "October deadline".Nor do we have any subscription service. We have a cancelled sky system on which we get all the BBC and ITV stations and a good few various channels and life goes on quite well.
We find we dont actually really miss RTE at all. The occasional programme that we want to watch can be viewed on the player later on if necessary.

    Anyone else in similar situation?

I have saorview only because its built in to the telly, otherwise its likely I'd be doing as you do. I don't follow a single programme on RTE (you can forget TV3!) bar Soccer Saturday and that's down to it being on earlier than MOTD!
