Looking for a weeks getaway (flight of less than 4 hours). Don't fancy the canaries again. Thinking Spain/Portugal, but would like to know if anyone can recommend a specific destination .Marbella, Malaga, Albufuera etc.. Want to avoid mad busy towns (so the likes of Malaga may be out).. Any help appreciated. Many Thanks

Albufeira in Portugal is beautiful, and the Portuguese people are very nice too + flight time of 2 hours and transfer of 30 mins from Faro airport.

would recommend monte gordo in portugal. Its on the other side of Faro towards the spanish border. beach is magnificent and child friendly. lots of portugese and spanish people holiday there so you dont get the typical irish/brit package tourist.lots of nice places to eat/drink and you dont get menus shoved in your face.
