If you were to pick the top 10 sportifs/events in the country what would they be?

Any idea where there is a list of sportives and dates?

The last few Rebel Tours were great imho.

I was going to do the Rebel tour last year until I saw where it was starting from. The SK was nearer and I live in Cork!!

You missed out, it was a great day.

The top ten won't all be on your doorstep.

I'm a little more motivated this year.
It wasn't so much the distance to it rather that the fact I had it in my head that I would drive 15mins up the road, do the cycle and be home in time for tea.

You missed out on a terrific day. I had my doubts about the chosen route but I was totally wrong. Magnificent is an understatement. Spectacular scenery, a tough route but not too tough (the 85 km). and excellent organization. Put it on you're to do list for this year if they go back to glengarriff.

    Tour de Burren
    SKT
Giant's Causeway (toughest by far imho)
    Orwell Randonee

    A sample from the West
    Tour de Burren
    Tour of Sligo
Western Lakes Polka Dot (up there with the toughest in the Belgian classic mode)
    Tour de Connemara

There is an excellent and very challenging 100km 'Trasna na nGleannta" through Gaeltacht West Cork and Kerry over three mountains that is worth checking out. Much of the day you are looking down on tree tops as you snake up the mountains on some very remote and quiet roads. I did five sportives last year and this was easily the toughest and most memorable.

Giant's Causeway, and there are a couple of runs around the Inishowen 100 which should knock the laziness out of you. :)

    Tour of Kilkenny
    Sean Kelly
    Tour de Cure
    ROK

These have been the only ones that I've done. Too knackered by the time the Rebel comes around but might do the 85km if they stick to the same route.

Tour de Munster is not a sportif, tut tut ROK on, but it is great to take part in. Within the Tour de Munster is the Vicious Cycle which is up there with one of the best days cycling in the year.
