    Hi,
I have a Samsung model LE46C52XXU Smart tv which doesn't have the RTE Player app. Does anyone know if it would be possible to install the app?
I have done the auto update on the installed apps but still no sign of RTE Player.

    Hi

I can't figure out any way to 'side load' the RTÉ Player onto that TV. I have a Samsung e-Series BluRay player that should have the RTÉ Player, but Samsung say it's not supported (even though their Press releases say it should be). I'm in touch with Samsung support who are saying that RTÉ need to release the App, and RTÉ who say they have released it and Samsung support should be contacted.

Even though both has a press release saying that all 2012 and 2011 models for Smart BD players and TV would support this (http://www.samsung.com/ie/news/localnews/2012/samsung-partners-with-rte-digital-to-become-the-first-tv-brand-to-launch-rte-player-on-smart-tv)

    Not holding my breath.

Can you not just download it from the Samsung apps? I have a Samsung Smart TV and that worked for me.

For me, no. It doesn't even appear under Samsung Apps.

I have tried like others but don't even see RTE Player listed in the Samsung available apps for download.

The LE46C has the older "Internet@TV" rather than "Smart TV" which I believe is in "D" models and above

New apps only seem to be written for the newer "Smart TV" enabled tellys.
