Templemore game was a near impossible day to hurl. Lads sliding everywhere. Templemore atarted well and got a lucky goal from a John Mc 65 that went O Riordan straight to the net. Midelton got on top with a few frees but Tommy Nolan scored a super goal and they were 3 up at half time. Colin was winning a mountain of ball at midfield.

Second half started with Brian Kennedy getting a point but then Midelton kind of took over. Ref gave some very harsh decisions against Templemore, especially calls against McGrath and Riordan for overcarrying, one winning a 21 for Midelton that was well saved. They got back level andit seemed like there would be a replay but Brian Kennedy scored a serious point from out near the sideline in the last minute.

It was a great win especially in the conditions. The full back line gave very little away, jason Ryan being the pick of them. Padraig Hogan done well at wing back and O Riordan gave an unreal performance at midfield, winning ball after ball. John Mcgrath was quiet bit has seemingly been sick lately and not firing on all cylinders. Best of the forwards were Tommy Nolan and Brian Kennedy. I'd say there's more in this team and hopefully they show it the next day against Ard Scoil, because they'll have to.

I hear the quality of coaching in Midleton is far from what it should be.

Coláistí Dun Garbhán 0.14 Blackwater CS 0.10

There was a big crowd in Fraher Field Dungarvan, at a guess around 2000.

The pitch looked superb as nothing was played on it in months, it looked a lot better than it was!! Fellas were slipping and sliding from the start which led to a very scrappy first half with a lot of frees. Dungarvan led 7-6 at half time.

The second half started a lot brighter with Dungarvan leading 0.10 - 0.7 after 45 mins. Dungarvan always had the edge from the 2nd minute of this game, neither goal keeper looked like being beaten. It went point for point here on in. Blackwaters David Geary was shown a straight red card after striking Dungarvans centre back Kevin Daly off the ball in injury time. Full time score Dungarvan 0.14 Blackwater CS 0.10.

Darragh Lyons and Patrick Curran did most of the scoring up front for Dungarvan while Tom devine and man of the match Tadhg Burke controlled the game from the half back line.

Thurles CBS beat Castletroy College 2-23 to 2-12 today apparently. Not really that much of a surprise, I think, Thurles are highly rated and Castletroy were beaten well by Ard Scoil earlier in the year.
