he was getting stale, he needed a change in direction but this isn't it. Way to unlikable and the fact he has turned his douche factor up by 10, doesn't help matters. Not sure about the long term success of Del Rio either, but he is a much better worker, has been face before and actually looks like he was properly enjoying himself in his new role and is much more natural than the Miz who was born to be a midcard heel.

Anyone enjoying The Miz at all these days?

Ive never been a big fan and I didn't think it was possible but hes gotten more annoying since his face turn.

Miz was okay on fear factor.

For the Cena thread I could talk plus or minus points. When the Ryback one gets put up I will be able to say what I like about him, dislike, where he could do better and so on.

with Miz I have little interest in him so can't be bothered.

He's just the same character!, Nothing different about him at all, still very unlikeable just now we're told he's a "good guy".

On the other hand,The Del Rio/Ricardo face turn was epic!,felt all fuzzy and nice when he was up celebrating in the crowd :D

It's been awful alright. It's not like they've really got behind him though. I thought it was hilarious that time he was talking trash with CM Punk - the heel remember - and Punk invited him to the ring only for Miz's response to be 'Nah, we could fight any time. Why don't we have you take a lie detector test instead on my talk show?'

Yeah that's a guy we can all get behind.

Yeah the lie detector test instead of a fight was terrible.

Its really half hearted, like nobody, even the wrestler himself believes in what he's doing.

Del Rio on the other hand is doing a very good job IMO.

It's a shame they did sort of half ass the turn. He could have been a decent face, once he didn't start that "MIZFITS HOO RAH!" thing he had when he first appeared on Smackdown, but this is nearly as bad. They've been more determined to have him do talk shows than actually participate in a wrestling match.

I have never been into the miz. I find him boring

I thought it was going okay until they paired him up with Cesaro and made him Mr. Patriot.

His talk show segment Miz TV have been very bad, maybe the worse ever in WWE :p

I find that one of the most annoying ways that WWE will try to get someone over as a face, or doing the inverse with a foreign wrestler they have as a heel.

"He's American, so he's the best!"
"He's not from our country, booooooooooooooooo!"

It's like nobody has told him that a babyface has to have at least ONE likeable quality!

I think the Miz has a chance to get over ,you could feel the crowd starting to get behind him during his run as half of the awesome truth but this is disastrous.

Del Rio on the other hand is going great ,they really showed him as very strong in standing up to Big Show and getting the upper hand. asking BS where his cahones where had me popping

tbh I don't share the love for Del Rio, most of what he's doing is the exact same as when he was a heel, he's only a face by virtue of his positioning against Show, not by his actions or demeanour.

It's impossible to like Miz when you know he gets to go home to Maryse.

Liked it at the start but it really tailed off since. They should have had him be a very reluctant sort of face - like the way Sheamus turned initially I think, but instead he is Captain Cringe.

Miz's problem is that Mike Mizanin the person is utterly unlikeable.

As far as I can see, he acts exactly the same way outside the ring, and I'm not talking about in character interviews etc.

He is also the least intimidating looking wrestler I have ever seen and a terrible talker.. His interaction with Flair was painful to watch!

My problem with his current character is that it's like he's trying to be a second rate version of a face Y2J, except he just doesn't have the charisma to pull off such a character and instead just comes off as unfunny and sarcastic.

Yes, this is a big problem I've always had with him. I thought it was pretty cringeworthy on Main Event this week when he stood in the ring with Orton in the face-off with The Shield. He was about as menacing looking as Josh Matthews.

    Miz needs a mask

I like his matches and commentary, yes.

Think the handling of Miz/Del Rio's faceness and Cesaro's heelocity has been a bit meh thus far though. I suspect patriotic Miz is just to cover the Cesaro fued through to the Royal Rumble until Jack Swagger comes back as Mecha-Angle or something.

I think the problem with the Miz turn was there was seemingly no reason for it. It happened for Survivor Series, didn't it? Just came out of nowhere and there was no catalyst. Then after the supposed turn he still acted like a heel - backing out of a fight, not saving Ricardo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,500 ✭✭✭✭DEFTLEFTHAND

He's a natural heel but I think I'll give the face thing a chance he hasn't been that bad in fairness.

I don't like Miz but I respect him, he took all the hazing and teasing and the reality star bullsh1t. He proved his worth in the business when they put the big title on him. He headlined a Wrestlemania and nobody can ever take that away from him.

I think Miz will eventually surprise people. Him standing side by side with Orton on Main Event was cool.

Its true to say he could eventually be good as a face, his matches are a good standard so he has that part right. He has not worked in WWE as a face so it makes sense that he would be slow to get everyone on board.

    Agreed.

Just listening to this weeks MLW podcast and Konnan has more or less said the same about Miz; he doesn't look like he could kick anybody's ass and he's totally unlikeable..

I think his face turn hasnt got off to the best start mostly because they keep shoving the miz tv sh*t on us. I remember MITB last year (or year before.. whenever alberto won) and he got 'injured' the crowd whent nuts when he come back out he has the potential to be great as a face they just need to get rid of miz tv or let him interview legends like flair everyweek and let him be the fan boy who uses their moves

Racial stereotypes live strong in the WWE!
