    Hi,

I was in an accident last month. I haven't claimed from my insurance yet (but I have notified them) I havnt yet decided weather or not its worth claiming for, my policy expires at the end of this month and I am sure that I will be changing companies (due to price). Can I still claim for my damage after my policy expires?

you'll have to check the terms and conditions of your policy. You are obliged to inform your insurance company of any incidents that may give rise to a claim as soon as possible. some will have time frames. They may decline due to late notification depending on the circumstances of the incident.

And if you decide to move, well then good luck! Bear in mind your no claims bonus would be affected going to the new insurance company. So any quote you have now would be invalid. You will also have to declare the claim to the new company.

Why has it taken you this long to decide whether to claim or not? As peteb2 says, they may very well decline the claim now as you've taken so long.

In any case, due to the policy expiring so soon, I really wouldn't advise it especially as you're thinking of moving companies. If there's an open claim, then you won't be allowed to move until that claim is settled. Therefore you'll be obliged to renew with the existing insurance. And any NCB will be affected.
