20 minute blast down the M50 in a ferrari for 100 quid. Tbh, it sounds boring, no chance of any craic with that even at the reduced price.

Philip Kelly, who recently drove our Ferrari said, "Absolutely loved this, best thing ever and 100 times better than a track day." ...What will you say?

    :D

Philip Kelly is an idiot if he thinks 20 mins in a Ferrari with a fella sitting beside you ruining your buzz is better than a track day..In fact Philip Kelly needs a box :pac:

Is this the same one that was talked about on here recently???

Car was flipped on the M50 and loads of questions around the quality of maintenance etc..

flipping a ferrari on the m50 would be worth €99 :P

I know a guy who did it recently and really enjoyed it, despite it lashing rain! I think for those of us who'd love to sit behind the wheel of a Ferrari and can never afford one it's a nice idea. Price-wise it seems to be the only one on offer in Ireland, so maybe lack of competition, but they still do have depreciation/fuel/insurance etc to sort! GRanted I haven't bought one yet, but I've been tempted!

    Spectators

Spectators are welcome to watch you drive off and return in the Ferrari. It's best not for them to attempt to follow as they simply will not keep up!

If this is on the M50 then they can go 100kph or 120kph -- most cars can go this speed.. unless then intend on allowing you break the speed limits in there car !!

I would rather be on the track :)

Edit: He did the Ferrari Thrill

I did this last Sunday - did 50km spin. Was good fun and the observer will only stop you if you are driving dangerous.
You give them your license and credit card at the start for any points .

+1. Excellent value for this and much more fun than sitting in light traffic in a Ferrari.

If you look at the basic pack for €129, it says a "3 lap experience". That'll be over in way less than 14-20mins.

The rest of thevtime you will be you in the passenger seat, not forgetting an over the top "safety" and "how to drive around mondello" briefing which does go on......

You'd need to be spending €300 for any decent drive time.

Got one of these via Golden Moments as a present for Father's Day. :p

Tried to book, was told wait 2 months. :o

Waited, got a booking, got a text as I was getting into my car the morning of my Ferrari drive - appointment cancelled -no reason.

Got another booking, got a text as I was getting into my car the morning of my Ferrari drive - appointment cancelled - brake problems.

Got my money back, went flying in a microlight instead - great fun.

AFAIC the Ferrari crowd are a bunch of time-wasters.

That looks ridiculously expensive. Why not call in to Joe Duffy and take a test drive in an M3 or M5. More than twenty minutes and it would be free :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

On a slightly different note, would there be any VRT issues here? It is a foreign registered car. I remember some restrictions if you bring in a car that you have owned abroad, without having to pay VRT. Something about other Irish people not being allowed to drive it for 12 months.
