I have an astra van which has non metallic white paint. I wash it fairly regular but would like to give it a good wax and polish what products would people recommend I would prefer easy to use products and a wax that would last long so more of a sealant I suppose. Any tips on how to apply the products etc would also be appreciated thanks.

What kind of condition is the paint in now?

I have a white car too and I used AutoGlym Super Resin Polish and AutoGlym Extra gloss protection sealant to protect it. This was based on the recommendations I got here from the experts. The EGP lasts a very long time and is cheap too. It is worth while claying and carefully de-taring the car first as it will really add to the final result:)

If your paint is in worse than near perfect you will need to use a more aggressive polish than the SRP.

I'm sure the experts will be along in a while with their words of wisdom soon!

Thank you that's really helpful ill try them products. I see that halfords have them is there anywhere on line that's a good place to get these products or is halfords the best? There is nothing perticularly wrong with the paint work I just one to give it a good clean in the next few weeks and thought a polish would do it wonders. I plan on de-taring all right and I have tar remover. Thanks again for the advice.

Ded Zebra is spot on with the Autoglym Super Resin Polish and Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection combo - works really well.

For best results, de-tar and clay - probably the best thing for you to do is to pick up something like Autoglym Clay Kit, as it includes what you need to clay (the clay, lubricant, and towel) and also a small bottle Super Resin Polish in it, and then pick up a small bottle of Extra Gloss Protection for sealing the finish.
Super Resin Polish will give a bit of depth and shine to the paint, while at the same time, filling some of the lighter swirls...but its a must to seal in your hard work.

Quick video on claying - in case you've never heard or seen it done! ;)

    No problem! :)

You'll be amazed by how much contamination the clay will pull from the paint, even after a good wash and de-tar (be sure to rinse the car down well after it). You should see a great improvement to the overall appearance of the car, and dont blame us if it becomes a bit addictive and you want to try get even more shine! :p Ohh and enjoy the beading on the paintwork in the rain afterwards - cos its guaranteed to rain after doing work like it! :D
