Hi, quick question! Has anyone had any dealings with the Tech-zone Ireland? They're an ebay seller based in Lucan. Just a bit concerned because they don't have a number listed anywhere!

Anyway, please let me know if you have experience with buying or dealing with them!

    thanks!
    DB

Actually, not bad! It took them less than 24 hours to get back to me, but there's no name on it?

This is their feedback profile :

Its not bad considering they joined eBay in January 2011.

Can give you a mobile number and email address as well if you want

Can't see any problem there. Plenty of feedback and only a tiny percentage of negative on a large volume of sales. Wouldn't be worried about lack of a phone number - probably a sole trader trying to appear like a company but nothing wrong in that.

Picked up a laptop battery from them.
Unfortunately generic battery wouldn't fit. Returns were not a problem and money was back in my account.
    Hope thats some help.

Can I get that contact information off you, I see an item I want to order but they are quite near me, I want to see if I can collect it by dropping around as there is a few days for delivery and Im near by, plus it saves the postage.

Hey I emailed them a while ago to see if I could drop by and they said it was mail only! Bit of a pain!

Ebay does not permit sellers to post phone numbers or emails online. All contact must be conducted through the website. Check their feedback to gauge their efficiency as a business.

There's no law to say you have to be a registered company to trade in Ireland.
Many thousands of people ply their trade and sell their wares as sole traders. They can be doing multi million turnover and they can still be a sole trader. (risky for them though as they are personally liable, whereas within a company set up, they have limited liability)

btw, 3 secons of a search on cro gives you this

    Type Business Name
    Number 441524
    Name TECH-ZONE
    Address <snip>
    Registered 02/06/2011
    Status Normal

    Effective Date 02/06/2011

As for not collecting. You cannot operate a public business from a home address. Therefore he cannot allow you collect from his address. This would be in violation of the planning of a private dwelling house and also his neighbours probably don't want the extra traffic.

Also, if you are buying via ebay - the ebay receipt is your receipt and a sole trader in the sales field does not ahve to register for vat unless annual sales are €75,000 or more (or something like that figure)

Hi allthedoyles, do you know if I can collect the item directly from the warehouse?

I cant figure this out- they have sold 55000 items and are not VAT registered ?>feedback.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=tech-zone_ie&ftab=AllFeedback

Send a complaint to Ebay about them.

Also open a Paypal Dispute, the reason "I received my item, but it is significantly not as described. For example: The item was damaged or defective."
