Ebay-am I within my right to cancel purchase?

I ordered 3 items of clothing from an Ebay shop on Sunday evening. I messaged the seller asking for a combined postage invoice immediately after buying. I was expecting a response at some stage on Monday but this never came. I again messaged the seller on Tuesday (yesterday). The seller responded saying that they had sent the invoice and to get back to them if I had not received it. I messaged back a half an hour later that I hadn't received it but again got no reply. It was very important that the items in question be posted by close of business yesterday as I purchased them for a holiday and I wouldn't have them in time if they were posted any later. Nonetheless, I emailed the seller again this morning and they finally sent the invoice. Thing is, there's no point in me continuing with the order now as I won't receive the items in time. I think that almost 3 working days is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for the seller to get back to me. Am I within my rights to cancel the order at this stage or am I obliged to continue and pay for the items?

Not really; short of the seller promising (in writing on the page/message) to send the combined invoice in less time you don't really have a leg to stand on. It is not the seller's fault if you're buying it at the last minute; possibly ask for faster shipping perhaps?

I would not think you'd have the right to cancel.

Anything that you'd need different would have had to have
    been arranged beforehand.

I thought as much :( Unfortunately, there's no way it will get here on time now. I'm just annoyed that the seller (who is a registered online business, not just a lone seller) lied about sending the invoice yesterday and then completely ignored me when I said I didn't receive it :(

Why did'nt you just pay immediately? Did the seller state they would combine postage and if so why didn't you find out what that was before buying?

You can refuse to go ahead with the sale, there is not much the seller can do other than reporting you to ebay as a non paying bidder.
