    My car failed NCT for

Brake lines/hoses: condition/advance corrosion, offside rear

    Exhaust system/noise: Silencer/leaking, nearside rear

Also, needs to do the retest for the emissions due the the leaking mentioned above.

Does anyone know how much will it cost and any reasonable garage near Harolds Cross?

    Thanks,

The model and year etc of the car would be required to give a better idea of price.

A rear box for one of those would be no more then €100 from memory and as for the brake line, they have to be made from scratch for each car so it really depends on which part and how much of the brake line needs replacing.

Can't say how much, but when I lived in Ranelagh/Rathmines I used to go to Sandford Motors and trust them.
Had engine trouble with an old Opel Corsa, some chancers in Irishtown quoted €1500, they sorted it for €80 ( replaced the carb float )

Between Ranelagh and Clonskeagh on the Clonskeagh road.

    Thanks

I went to Crofton Motors in Kimmage and they asked for 400, I guess I will check some other places as for the car it is I am not sure it is worth it to spend that much just pass NCT
