    Hey guys,

As the title suggests myself and a few mates are trying to plan a lads holiday this summer and would like some help choosing between Ibiza and Ayia Napa. Ibiza works out a little cheaper for flights and accommodation but I'd imagine this will be offset by Napa being a little cheaper when we get there. If anyone could provide me on some info on what both are like it would be much appreciated.

I'm aware of the price into clubs in Ibiza, but it is free drink all night after you get in isn't it??

no you get one free drink in some places. in the big clubs its about 12euro for a vodka and mixer and you can pay about a 8-10 for a beer.

you can still have a good time and get cheaper drink in the disco bar type places in san antonio bay but if you want to be going to the big clubs like eden, pacha etc every night you will need a rake of cash.

Ibiza hands down, il be going back for my fifth stint this year.

Don't mind the people that say its expensive, yes the big clubs pacha, amnesia, space etc are but when you consider it your seeing 3/4 big djs playing in one night for a max of €50 a ticket excluding Guetta who charges a disgraceful €70. Regards drink prices in these clubs yes there expensive but the solution to this would be to just pre drink before you go out to these big clubs. A litre bottle of vodka in most off licenses are roughly €8 with a bottle of 50% vodka being €12 which would easily last for 2/3 nights pre drinks.

The west end (the strip of clubs/bars) are cheap enough with most places being buy one get one free or decent enough deals. Tropi bar was €8 for two pints of vodka red bull and two shots this year which is grand. The strip would be along the same lines as student price drinks here in Dublin.

Eden and Es Paradis reps go around the strip most nights and you'll be able to get a band for free entry before 2:30, bare in mind the place may be emptyish and they do this to get people In and buying drinks. Again if your fairly smashed you won't mind to much.

Most accomodation would be cheap enough and let's face it you won't be in your room that much. LA Apartments (No Pool) , Central Park (No Aircon) & Hotel Rita (Lovely Bar) are three places in San Antonio iv stayed in which are grand for the price. Central Park was serious Craic but the no Aircon was a killer, the pool on the roof is savage though. THB Ibiza Mar contrary to the the reviews was excellent and I was there for three weeks summer just gone. It's in San Antonio Bay about 10 minutes walk to the strip and €5 in a taxi, I'd recommend a taxi out and walking home along the beach which is awesome. A 24hr spar is located at the steps of the apartments which is handy for getting drink/food.

Flights wise Ryanair is usually cheaper but it turned out €35 cheaper to fly out with air lingus and back with Ryanair! The airport to San Antonio is about €22 in a taxi which is grand between four people.

I haven't stayed over in bora bora/ Ibiza town area yet but if your looking to stay over there I wold reccomend the Jet Apartments, I was in them a few times and there nice!

If you have any other questions just give me a shout.

The last lads holiday I had (about 5 years ago) was Ayia Napa, and I'd go back at the drop of a hat. Amazing town, amazing people and bars, and the cleanest water I've ever seen. We stayed at an apartment place called happy days iirc, standard enough but with an amazing steak restaurant next door, and a nighclub over the road called Aqua which was like any normal club except it also had a huge swimming pool. Quite the shenanigans going on in there at 4am. The square itself is buzzing with atmosphere, no rowdies or hassle at all. Star beach is a bit out of the way, five minutes quad bike/taxi away, but you'd spend all day there before going out that night. Definitely get quads/mopeds/rent a car and take a spin around, it's a stunning country. The one thing I didn't like about it was the price, by clubbing holiday standards it was a bit pricey, one cypriot pound is two euros, a beer/shot is usually about 3 pounds. Aside from the expense, it's an amazing place to be and I wouldn't even consider it near the same level as Ibiza.

Thanks Gweedling, you suggested more or less what I thought about prices in Napa. Do any of the clubs do promotions - something like 2 for 1 or free shot when you buy a drink??

Most of it is a blur, but wrt clubs, most charge in, but befriend a rep and they'll get you in for free with a free shot, I remember Starsky's (check it out, awesome club, I still have the Tshirt) would run drinks promos for bottles & shots every half hour or so.
