Dell 1525 - Beeping/keyboard issue

hello, friend of mine gave me a laptop to look at. on boot up the laptop gives a series of beeps, and when windows loads, the laptop is erratic, performing actions without me touching a button, certain keys dont work. i tried usb keyboard( works fine) ran virus check(none found) did clean install of windows( no change)…

hello,

friend of mine gave me a laptop to look at. on boot up the laptop gives a series of beeps, and when windows loads, the laptop is erratic, performing actions without me touching a button, certain keys dont work.

i tried usb keyboard( works fine)
ran virus check(none found)
did clean install of windows( no change)
uninstalled keyboard driver and installed again(no change)

Have you checked the keyboard itself? If you're able to get to the keyboard ribbon connector, disconnect it from the motherboard, connect an external keyboard and boot it up again.
