Windows Update Problems

    This is the error I get when I want to update in both XP and Windows 7, Windows update encountered unknown error 8024402f, I've done a thorough search on the net and still can't fix it, I've tried everything they suggested and no joy, it has me baffled, I have a sneaky feeling that it could be my router not letting the windows update through, but I can't access it to see if it is. Any ideas?
