Hi Guys, we have opened a new internal door ope. Wall is 8ft to ceiling and has one single 9 X 2 floor joist over ope. Cut height is 83" leaving 13" of blockwork over head. Here is the dilemma, Carpenter who is fitting door and also made ope saye there is no need for a lintel, I have my reservations. Any thoughts?? He said he could put a length of flat steel over the door frame to support whats left in blockwork.
