Dublin to Sligo route - are there toilets?

Hey there, can anyone tell me are there toilets on the Dublin to Sligo bus! It's almost a 4 hour journey and I know there were none a few years ago! It says online that "For services stopping at Longford Rail Station, there will be a
short comfort stop. Toilet facilities are available." But the bus time I have to get doesn't stop here - does this mean we've to cross our legs for 4 hours??

Most BE coach that I am aware are not fitted out with toilets .

The GOBE ones are to Galway.

Train might be the way buy online

Last train to Sligo is at seven which I won't make :( - the bus has an 8 and an 11pm service - Can't believe how bad public transport is in Ireland - it's bad enough the bus takes double the time of a car but to not have a toilet or a scheduled stop in a 4 hour journey is mad - I'll have to avoid contact with any water for the day and hope for the best :(...think I'll be looking at getting a car - seems transport to the west closes down after 7 in the evening and it's not much better in the mornings :(

Many of the longer routes have short comfort stops along the route at some garage or other. These are not always advertised.

Thanks - might give them a ring and check or beg the bus driver to let me go somewhere :)

The reason there is no comfort stop on that service is due to residents in Longford station area complaining of noise, the stop for Longford is at the court house on the main st and if you're lucky supermacs across the street will be open.

And there's no point begging the driver because there is nothing he can do if there's nowhere open.

Well I won't know unless I ask and I'm pretty sure the midlands and the west aren't that barren that there's no garages - and there's always plan B - Down the bus aisle :)

That route is extremely barren late at night and any open garage you find will almost certainly only have the hatch to pay for fuel open, trust me I've tried.. tell you what, I'll ask the driver...

.... ok so you may have more options on the 8pm service but according to the driver on 11pm there is only one place available, Mullingar, there is a pub approx 50 mtrs from the stop, however it seems to be only open late on a Friday (possibly Saturday too but he doesn't work that day so not sure), but after that there is nothing that he knows of.. so ask nicely and remember plan b.
