Halfords Bluetooth install

Wow that was a saga. We decided to get a parrot ck9100 installed in grand picasso. Halfords were charging 154 for kit, 30 for leads and 35 euro fitting. Checked out decent sounds in clondalkin and was quoted 325 for ck9200 install and kit.

No brainer you'd think. Brought it in Sunday. Youngest fella in shop arrived over to do it. He seemed like he didn't know where to put screen and mic. Was told 1.5 hours.

2.5 hours later I arrived back and they said 5 more minutes. 20 minutes of standing around and the sheepish young fella arrives over to tell me that he had cracked antenna connection putting back in radio. So bluetooth but no radio. Said it would take another 2 hours to fix when they locate part.

Asked for manager and told them I needed to take car now. Said I didn't think I should pay for install but he said they'd fix it and it was all part of professional service (I had paid upfront). Said young fella was his most experienced fella. When I looked at car. Parrot screen was peeling off as double sided tape obviously had been tried in another area first.

In fairness another lad fixed it today. But that's nearly 5 hours labour for 35 euro for them and alot of me and Missus' time wasted. Not a word of a voucher or discount for time wasted.

Fair play to you for bringing your car over to Halfords to get this done ;)
This is the last place on earth where you want to get ICE solutions installed or even ask for advice on bulbs.

Now in fairness sh1t happens, everybody make mistakes and rarely car parts are extremely solid and durable. They got you sorted in the end.
Yeah agreed they should have done something to you for the serious inconvenience, even though they lost money on that job. Their economical model is just ridiculous.

I bought some bulbs a while back in halfords and they wanted to fit them. I was half-tempted just to see them try but I thought I better not or they would break something. I got a reputable garage to change the bulb in the end.

They did fit a radio I bought there last year though and that was an effort. It took three of them wedged into the front of my car about an hour to replace a dodgy aftermarket radio that was already in there.

According to my mechanic I do a satisfactory job of fitting headlights in the OH's C5

Halfords do not when I am lazy/out of the country.

That said fitting headlights in a C5 is a bit of a challenge.

Wife got rear bulb done a few weeks ago. They managed that ok. Couldn't believe cost of wiper blades for my a4 there 60 euro. They were own brand too.

Lads, any chance ye could go to your local motor factors. Chances are you will get much better service from knowledgeable staff at a much better price.

Halfords are fine for buying waxes and polishes but anything serious they are mostly clueless. I cringe evertime I see a bonnet open near a Halfords!

Halfrauds are not qualified to fit anything to a car
Great for prices but thats where it stops
Have fixed so many carkit installs over the years that were fitted by Halfrauds

Most things in halfords usually are way more expensive than most other places unless there's a sale on.
