You have to weld up all hole change the windows to panels put down a proper floor and get an engineer to sign of on it. Don't know if you can do it on uk cars. I'm sure someone will be along soon who knows.

Sorry to bump an old thread, I was thinking about importing a golf van from the UK, I am struggling a little to find them on autotrader etc, any advice?
I was thinking at least an 08 model golf

    Thanks

probably something to do with the fact they didn't sell golf vans in the uk. you can get fiesta, corsa, astra vans thats about it. They never really sold focus 307 golf vans like ireland did.

Ok thanks for that, I didn't realise that so there goes my idea of importing a golf van I guess. I thought I could get myslef a nice deal on one

golf vans are expensive. they are not really something you will get a good deal on. so you can really only pay the premium for them or buy something else. but they are obviously a good car and I suppose thats why they cost so much theres a demand for them.

so basically the Golf van is mainly available here in Ireland? would the North be an option?

The north would be much the same as uk unless there is the odd one on Irish plates but there not going to be and cheaper to buy. It's just the kind of van you have to pay for if you want one no cheap ways of getting one really unfortunately.

Afaik the Golf was never available as a car van from the factory, the conversion was done when they landed here so NI would be the same as mainland UK. I don't think they even offer the Golf as a van here anymore these days.
