Meteor won't unlock my phone!

Hi all,

Bought a galaxy s advance of adverts just after the christmas locked to meteor rang customer care requesting the phone to be unlocked they said the original owner would need to request this as it is against the law if they were to unlock it! Surely that cannot be true, have bought a old iphone of adverts before and o2 unlocked it without a fuss. What are my options here my contracts end next month which leaves me without a phone unless I get this unlocked?

Edit: Am rooted with official jellybean rom from samsung but cannot find a unlock trick as the phone has a very low development rate.

Ebay for a few small quid, just save yourself the hassle of Meteor, brutal customer service, even meteors own shop staff say how useless the customer service is

I will have no useable sim card if I don't get it unlocked. Nothing on ebay how much do you think it will be to get it done on moore street?

Get in touch with the original owner and get them to do it. They really are the people here with the obligation to get it unlocked. You don't know if that phone could still be listed as under contract with Meteor.

If you want to talk technical unlocking options, just let me know and I'll move this thread to the Mobiles & PDAs forum.

If you could move it please, trying to get the code from the nv_data.bin file atm if someone knows what im talking about

Quick update while im half a sleep bought a unlock code of these group fot 16e just came through email now working perfect yay now for my three sim to arrive. not to bad me thinks as the chinese man in the phone shop was looking for 35e :eek:
