Decent Living Social deal for an 8gb mp3 player, can't really go wrong at that price.

    http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/1677-national-ireland/deals/582956-8gb-mp3-player

€12.90 including delivery. Be very careful here It says supports 8gb of music which leads me to believe your buying a no gb mp3 player and have to add a 8gb card to it after...This is the link to the product on the company's website

    http://www.qualite.co.uk/Mp3_Player_-_Supports_8GB/p1081973_8169897.aspx

Looks like a bit of sharp business practice going on here.

Not a bargain. So you can go wrong...
Sure you can buy the same thing from China for less.

If that doesn't come with an 8GB card, that is false advertising plain and simple.

"External Memory: Support up to 8GB TF card (Memory not Included)."

You can buy these yokes on eBay for about €2 with free delivery.

I just feel sorry for the 860 people who've bought the deal; hopefully some of them will realise in time to cancel.

LivingSocial should definitely be reported to the ASA for this (not that this will achieve anything). A new low on the slippery slope they've been on for some time now...

Livingsocial/groupon... i have never seen a decent bargain on any of them and again, this is another case of it.

My mother in law thinks groupon are the best thing since sliced bread... might show her his thread to shock her a bit.

Fair dues to the lad/ladies for spotting this as being a bit off the wall price wise... its nice to see that BA can be used for pointing out something might not be such a bargain after all.

These should be in cereal boxes. That's how cheap they are.

Jesus... just spotted also in the living social link that they are saying this originally has a price tag of €49.53! HA! :D

Even at its €7 + €5.90 postage (WTF!) giving a total of €12.90... you could buy 6 of these at the ebay price of €2.02!

That is shocking to say the least!

That is shocking, not to mention that battery life is only 3 to 4 hours? Is it just me or would that be a constant pain, obviously depends on how much you're using it, but for me, I'd probably need to charge it every 2nd day where as my current one might need a charge once a week.

sorry about the post lads, think you are right, not such a bargain after all :o

probably not an awful deal but not amazing either

    i've cancelled mine anyway!

Thats shockingly poor form. There seems to be a lot of sharp practice and even fakes turning up in some of these "deals".

A lot of these sites have just turned to selling the rubbish you get for peanuts from dealextreme at 5 times the price. It's ridiculous.

The rise and fall of the "deals" websites, c. 2009~2013.

I wonder how many of these have sprung up in the last few years?

Yep, hotel breaks seem to be the only genuine bargain now.

I did too. They have updated the fine print -
Valid for MP3 player (memory not included), supports 8GB

Hope they're as quick to process and refund 1,238 cancellations. :D

    Good enough for them.

Just spotted this thread a year on. Deal is up again:

    https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/1003819-8gb-mp3-player-in-choice-of-colour?show_missed=true

Unfortunately I was duped into thinking it was a cheap 8GB MP3 player and bought one. Already have an ipod but figured this would be a handy player for going running with. Can't link it up to the Laptop, won't even recognise the device when plugged in. On the plus side it does have two of the worst songs of all time already on the player.
