Full information available on the citizensinformation website, but it's likely that you were either means tested which will not be at the standard rate.

Adult single weekly payment of what though? Are you looking for information on Job Seekers Benefit (which is the non-means tested payment that people get when they are first unemployed & runs out after 9 months) or Job Seekers Allowance (kicks in after 9 months & is means tested). By single do you mean that you are a single person, ie not married or cohabiting? Are you talking about a different payment than jobseekers allowance or benefit?

Your payment depends on your own circumstances, including your age so you'd have to provide a little more information on what payment you are talking about and your age before anyone could help you out.

hii MissFlitworth, i got a course and attended the course but i am now finished, so i went back to social scheme, i am on job seekers allowance, i didnt get no financial assistance from social welfare, even on the christmas and new year, they would give me anything, i am 26 years of age, am single man, am i not entitled to an adult payment?. A decision was made on my claim and i got a letter from the post stating i am going to recieve 144 euros weekly and all my arrear were calculated as 144euros, because i haven't collected any money for about 3 months, what should i do, should i appeal because i am been cheated with about 600euros off my dole. i am been cheated here.. Hii MissFlitworth, at the age of 22,23,24 and 25 i collected 188 as my weekly payment, at the age of 26 presently i am collecting 144 as if i am a teenager.

Job Seekers Allowance is a means tested payment so there's no definite entitlement to €188 per week for people on it, do you have income that's being taken into account when calculating your means?

You can read through what is & isn't taken into account on the citizens information website here

The best thing to do is probably to go into the social welfare office and ask why your payment is at €144, they should be able to go through the reasons why with you. Then you can take the reasons they are giving you and check to make sure that those reasons are correct or to prove that they aren't correct if you don't believe they are. Unfortunately it's not as cut and dried as being entitled to a single amount when you're on a means tested payment. The amount you're getting shows up on the Citizens Information website as the maximum payment for people between 22 & 25 - could there have been a mistake made with your age?

I'm sure you've looked at citizensinformation already, but might this apply to you?
    Reduction in payment
The Social Welfare Act 2010 provides that your payment can be reduced if you:

Refuse an appropriate offer of training by an officer of the Department of Social Protection or FÁS
Decline an intervention under the Employment Action Plan (EAP), do not attend EAP meetings with a FÁS officer under the EAP or drop out of the EAP process
Community Employment Schemes are not considered to be FÁS training opportunities.

    If you are:

Age 25 or over, your payment can be reduced to €144
Age 22-24, your payment can be reduced to €111
Age 18-22, your payment can be reduced to €75

I thought it was Jobseekers Benefit that was the taxable one, not allowance?

But yes, you should be on €188, unless as stated above you declined training.

I'm not sure if either payment is taxable but Job Seekers Allowance is the means tested payment
