Hello, my name is Paul O’Hara I am a final year psychology student in Waterford Institute of Technology. This year we are required to complete a thesis and mine is examining the use of brain training as a potential aid to weight loss.

I am looking for participants in the Waterford region who would be willing to come into W.I.T. to partake in this research. In order to be eligible you must be at least 18 years old and have a BMI of 25 or more. All data from this research will be anonymised in that participant numbers will be assigned and only the researchers will have access to this, so that if you wish to withdraw at any point we can remove any data previously collected.

As a participant, you would be required to complete testing on the first day, which will take approximately 2 hours 45 minutes. Here you will also be shown the brain training, the brain training would then need to be done at home. It takes approximately 20 minutes and on average 4 weeks to complete. Upon completion participants would be required to come into W.I.T. again for retesting.

Testing will take place on weekday evenings from 6 until 9 or Saturday mornings from 10 until 1. If you are interested in participating please let me know if Saturday or whichever evening would best suit you.

If you feel this would be beneficial to you please feel free to contact me on here or on my email address which is 20045713@mail.wit.ie you can also contact my supervisor Dr. David Delany at delanydi@maths.tcd.ie .
