RTEPULSE has appeared on 94.3FM in Dublin - the service will be on air for the next 8 weeks.

Not to sure how RTE got approval for the 8 week licence - would explain why NRG have not returned after Christmas.

Have you got a source for the license ? Sounds like an illegal relay.

There was no mention of RTEPulse or the fact that its on FM on Operation Transformation this evening - all a bit bizzare.....

Anyone know if the BAI licenced this service ?

Well since they updated the name, they seem to have dropped listing what's licensed and what's not licensed.

Say it is a licensed operation if not the **** will hit the fan big time.

About time there was a licensed dance station.

Still all sounds very bizarre I must say, came out of know where !

RTÉ Digital Radio Station Granted Temporary FM Licence

RTÉ Pulse to be the Soundtrack to Operation Transformation

RTÉ Digital Radio’s dedicated dance music station, RTÉ Pulse, has been granted a temporary FM licence to coincide with the transmission of RTÉ One Television’s Operation Transformation.

RTÉ Pulse, which for the limited period will become “The Soundtrack to Your Operation Transformation”, will broadcast in the Dublin region from today, 15 January 2012, until 27 February 2012.

The station will broadcast on 94.3fm; the frequency which was held up until recently by the popular seasonal station, Christmas FM.

RTÉ Pulse Station Editor, Adam Fogarty, says: “The temporary addition of FM to RTÉ Pulse’s existing platforms is very exciting. It’s a great opportunity for us to extend our reach in the Dublin region and further showcase our quality programming. As a truly dedicated dance music service, RTÉ Pulse aims to be representative of what is happening right now in electronic music; from commercial to specialist. I think that listeners will be pleasantly surprised by the eclectic nature of the programs we broadcast.

I feel our association with Operation Transformation during this time will be of great benefit to the listener. Those following the programme are obviously keen on getting fit and healthy and with our high energy dance music programming; RTÉ Pulse is the perfect soundtrack to anybody’s Operation Transformation and we’re delighted to be involved with the programme.

The station, which recently launched a new schedule, broadcasts a blend of commercial dance music, homegrown presenter-led specialist music and magazine programmes and syndicated shows from the crème de la crème of heavyweight international DJs and dance music labels such as Judge Jules, Paul Oakenfold, Hed Kandi and Ministry of Sound.

On Wednesday 16 January RTÉ Pulse will broadcast Op Tran Extra. Presented by Evelyn O’Rourke, the magazine-style programme will broadcast immediately after Operation Transformation on RTÉ One Television and will feature behind-the-scenes insights and extras from Operation Transformation leaders Dr. Eva Orsmond, Karl Henry and Dr. Eddie Murphy. The three experts will also be taking listeners’ questions via email: optranexperts@gmail.com. Operation Transformation has spurred a huge number of people to set up fitness groups within their own communities and, from these, Op Tran Extra will feature a ‘Group of the Week’.

RTÉ Pulse is one of a suite of digital radio services from RTÉ available on Digital Radio (where available), on Saorview Channel 205, UPC channel 943 and via the RTÉ Radio Player. RTÉ Pulse will continue to broadcast its regular schedule on these platforms after the cessation of the temporary FM licence.

Subtle as a sledgehammer naming on the station by the way. I doubt RTE could come anywhere close to reproducing the quality of Pulse FM.

Well there giving it one hell of a go. Just once they keep to the dance music they played before they hit FM cause it was fairly decent.

A friend of mine contacted them today regarding this. They said that licencing RTE services isn't part of their remit.

infact, it is aweful, apart from that good to hear that RTE pulse is on fm, would be nice if it was a permenent feature on fm but it won't but never mind, the good old pirates will fill the gap for those of us who like real music and not that pop/r&b/xfactor auto-tuned trash

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.

Yay. Something different to listen to at lunch now instead just of 98 and 2fm, not being into talk radio.

Great to hear RTE Pulse on the FM. IMO it's the best radio station in Ireland (for music). They play quality music all the time.
