Any reports of Saorview from Clermont Carn reaching across the Irish Sea since DSO? I know that RTE analogue had been picked up in both parts of SW Scotland and IOM but does DTT signal reach that far or is it severely nulled to the east unike its radiation now into NI?

I can't find any decent photos of the CC mast, showing the main transmitting array from all sides, but what I have seen would seem to show 3 aerial panels per tier, at 90 degrees to each other on a square section topmast, with none on the side that appears to be oriented ENE.

So obviously there will be a bit of a gap in the radiation pattern in that direction.

It's nulled to East (approximately). But North East (parts of Scottish coast) or South East (parts of Welsh coast) might have some chance. IOM might have more chance with Three Rock in some locations.

There was a discussion on this about the time of ASO - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=81403966#post81403966, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056779145.

Clermont Carn restriction in an arc from 60-150 degrees eastwards.

Yes, Saorview is receivable at my location in the south west tip of the Island. Have always had it from 3R and then Kippure but since CC fired up on c52 at ASO it's bouncing the signal off my windows! So much for it being nulled, or should I say restricted in my direction!

Going by the meters on a Humax box, SV from CC is S-91, Q-100 and stronger than Divis (S-61, Q-100) and Killkeel (S-53, Q-100)! All those on a wideband aerial in the loft.

Can't get SV from the NIMM on c39 from BM as Kilkeel HD on C39 is CCI. Pity, as it would have been nice to have programme info in the EPG from the NIMM as it's not available from CC on my Freeview HD box. :D

Just out of interest, Kippure VHF was better reception here than DTT from anywhere that I could receive from Ireland pre ASO - Divis, 3R & Kippure. Now I can pull in somewhere in the region of 15+ muxes (a lot of duplicate channels of course) from Leitrim (NI), Divis, Kilkeel, CC, 3R, Kippure and PSM (IOM).

It'll be interesting to see how 3R & Kippure fair in the summer (if we ever get one again!) as I used to lose the signal during lift conditions, but often could get Cairn Hill on c47 instead during those conditions! As soon as CH disappeared, 3R & Kippure would reappear.
