Ok were only 3 weeks from National Signing day so worth a thread I think.

How are your team doing in recruiting this year ? The usuals are up there with the top ranked classes Florida, Bama, and Notre Dame the top three accoridng to many sources.

USC are having a mare recently with so many decommits its unreal. It could completely unravel for them.

As a Hawaii fan Im pretty happy. This is the first real year Norm Chow has had to go after recruits and its lined up to be our best ever class assuming no deccomits.

Two 4 star ESPN 300 signings in our class. Given we have never ever had one 4 star recruit in school history getting two in the same class is pretty sweet. A couple of 3 stars to go with it and realistically a good shot at 2 more 3 stars.

Were seriously rebuilding and next year will be tough but the 2014 season and beyond looking more rosey for us. Still think we are woefully short of a decent Wide Out and Safety and also an OLB and MLB that could bolster the defensive side of the ball.

That said we are going the right way.

Probably realised that it takes more than a collection of star players to make a proper team. We call that the Lane Kiffin effect :(

As long as Max Browne stays committed, I'm excited. And I gather there's no reason to believe he would decommit so we should be ok in that regard.

wow serious lack of interest in colege ball it seems.

Anyway Hawaii just signed two JUCO three stars today. Much needed OLB & WR players.

This is without doubt the best signing class we have ever had. Reckon we could concentd for the MWC in 2014

I wouldn't say it is a lack of interest in college more so is that not many have followed the recruiting this year. Personally I haven't had a good look at it all. Check out a few of the DII DIII colleges that I have interest in but haven't looked at much of D1 since the start of HS football back in sept.

Duck's biggest verbal commit so far is Thomas Tyner. The kid runs the 40 in 4.30 and had a 650 yard 10 TD game this year. Hes a fairly big dude too-- 6'1" and 210 lb.
Weve missed on a few defensive players it seems though.

Happy with how the Notre Dame class is shaping up despite Alex Anzalones decommittment at the last minute, but he was always a bit of a flakey kid so may have ended up transferring eventually anyway. Jaylon Smith will be a stud imo, really happy with the the O-line recruits, excited about the two Florida running-backs we picked up late on in the season and there are some promising CB's coming in as well which is vital.

I feel the biggest needs remaining in this class are MLB and D-Line. ND aren't really in for any big name MLBs at the moment and with limited space remaining in the class and a number of big prospects visiting soon I can't see them signing a lower ranked player in that position so that will probably have to wait until the 2014 class. However there are two big D-line prospects visiting next weekend in Kylie Fitts and Eddie Vanderdoes, both are former USC commits and both are still considering USC, in fact Fitts loves USC so much he is still considering them despite them screwing him over the other week. I think Fitts is a bit of a longshot and the visit will need to go very well in order for ND to get him, I have a good feeling about Vanderdoes though.

Other than that Larue, another former USC commit, and Prevot, a current USC commit, are also scheduled to visit although I'm not sure ND will have space for either when all is said and done.

All in all I think Notre Dame will end up with a consensus top 5 class with a good chance of a top 3 class if they finish well.

In a general sense I think Alabama will end up with the #1 class over all. It's a real case of the rich getting richer as they already have some top talent currently committed to them and are in for some of the best uncommitted players as well including Tunsil, Vanderdoes and possibly even Nkemdiche.

As a ND fan I have to say that I enjoyed seeing USC's potentially sensational class fall apart a bit at the end. They should still end up with a very good class, but it's a long way off what it looked like it would be before the season started. To make it better ND already flipped Max Redfield and could potentially take 2 or even 3 more former or current UCS commits.

I'll also be looking with interest at how Ole Miss finish out their recruiting class. In my opinion it seems a tad suspicious that they will very possibly close out their class with three or four 5 star prospects. However looking at each player in isolation they do have some sort of connection to the programme so maybe their luck is just in this year.

We Just nabbed the #12 ranked recruit out of Utah Elijah Tupai a 3 Star Guard. Brings out class to 22 commits now. Room for a few more but think were pretty close to done now.

Gives us the 4th ranked recruiting class out of the MWC this year as it stands. Given SDSU & Boise both had the lure of the big east going for em I'm happy enough with that.

Ugh, another one bites the dust. Jalen Ramsey decommits from USC :(

Still a pretty bad ass recruiting class by us, but have a lost a few big names. Shudder to think how many we'd lose if Browne decommited too.

Very possible USC will only end up signing around 10 recruits.

Meh, still the best QB in the country and 5 other 4-star recruits. I'm not worried at all, future is always bright in SC. Expecting big, big things of Browne.

Depends whos rankings you go by, the composite on 247 has him and Hakenberg pretty much neck and neck. Also if Wittek pans out he might not even see the field for three years.

Don't get me wrong, they still have some impressive players, Rodgers the OG and Bigelow the DT look like they could contribute early on and Cravens has the makings of a star college player. But how the class was shaping up and what it is going to end up like are worlds apart unless they pull off a number of surprises tomorrow. 10 players in a class has got to hurt a program and the thing is that USC have no one but themselves to blame in a number of the cases. Karma can be a bitch in the recruiting game sometimes.

Number 1 overall recruit Robert Nkemdiche committed to Ole Miss. They also lost one of their 5 stars to Auburn this morning, but are somehow still in the hunt for 2 or 3 more 5 stars today.

yeah they seem to be lucky with a lot of our of state 5 stars having links to Missisippi this year. They are putting a pretty sweet class together though

Alex Collins, a 5 star RB from Florida, was set to sign his LOI to Arkansas this afternoon. However supposedly his mother, who wants him to stay in Florida, drove away with his LOI causing the announcment ceremony to be cancelled.

And ND finish off their recruiting class by getting a commitment from 5 star DT Eddie Vanderdoes over UCLA, Alabama and USC. After Alabama, who imo have the number 1 overall class, ND have a good claim to having the 2nd best class along with Florida and Ole Miss. If ND can keep recruiting like this and keep the spine of the current staff together over the coming years, I would expect us to be in the National Championship picture on a regular basis.

    6'2", 310-pounds out of high school - the guy's a brute.

Hope he transfers that talent to the college stage.

Yep, he's so athletic for his size as well. In his senior tape he's often standing up in the MLB position. Also look at the tape below, he was simply dominant at camps.

247 bumped him up to their 6th overall player this year on the basis of him dominating performance at the Army All American bowl as well. So he's a freak athlete and has dominated the top competition in camp and bowl settings, I think he plays early and often next year. ND is developing something very special in the trenches.
