    Hi
I wonder if anyone can help. My Mother has UPC Digital TV with a recordable box. ( Ditched UPC myself for freeview last year). The disc is showing zero percent free but there is only one recording saved in the my recordings menu. She had already deleted a number of saved programmes.I tried all the menu options but couldn't see anything that would free it up. i did notice that there was an option to "Auto Disc Management" which was turned off so i turned this on but it made no difference.

    Any Ideas folks

Have you tried calling UPC support and asking them?

As far as I know, they are just standard HDDs in the UPC box (in fact an engineer told me that I could swap out the HDD for a bigger one if I felt inclined to do so).

You could just whip it out and connect to your PC. Check to see what is going on. Be careful about formatting it though. I am not sure what formatting is on the HDD and it may need a specific one. UPC box may or may not look after this for you automatically when you connect up a HDD.

The above will no doubt destroy any warranty and may be against UPC's terms of usage.

Lets not start discussing things against the terms of service

Thanks for the replies. I had sent an online query to UPC but the the reply that they sent back was just a description of how to delete a recording which wasn't the problem at all.
I wasn't keen on ringing the support line due to previous issues with UPC but was surprised when i did. I got through immediately and spoke to a nice person about the problem. Alas they couldn't do anything until I was actually beside the digi box to go through some options so i will ring them back when next at my Mother's house. Credit where credit is due.
I will let you know what happens next.

Did you get any help from upc on this?

My HD+ box decided today to tell me I have no recordings as it must have got tired hanging on to them for me.

Has anyone ever succeeded in accessing recordings you know are on there somewhere even though the box tells you there are none? I've tried all the usual rebooting efforts. It still has my future recordings set up but no longer shows the existing ones.
