What's the layout of N Th1 (in the Newman Building) like?

I've got a class in this theatre this semester but I've never been in it before. Can anyone tell me what the layout of the room is like?

I'm asking because I use a motorised wheelchair.
Normally I go into the little box at the back of the theatre which is ok I guess:rolleyes:.

However the module outline for this particular class states that we will be expected to work in groups and sit with our groups during class.

Have found, in the past, that the little wheelchair box is not very conducive to group work so if the layout in this theatre is the same, I was going to speak to the lecturer and see whether there is another way around things.

    Can anybody advise me?

Are you sure its not N Th 2? Th1 (visible here) is more of a traditional theatre. Th2 has numerous low tables spread around a large open room.

In terms of access to it, The AD lift is right outside the two theatres, or you can come in from the Library Delivery bay area door, around past the lockers to the theatres.

Thanks for that stop. No it's definetly N Th1, just double checked. I guess I'll email the Lecturer so.

I have no trouble getting downstairs, I have a locker down there. I was just worried about the layout of the class.

It doesnt look like they have made the new theatre any more inclusive.

I think you might be okay for group work in there, the door is at the front of the room as opposed to the back & the front row are at ground level so if you had a group that sat up the front that could work?

I had lectures in "NTh 1 ART" Its where DramaSoc had their old theatre. Its a bright open theatre. The door is at the front and as Muir said, it slopes upwards from there. I can't say for certain but I'm 99% sure it has a wheelchair space on either side beside the front row.

Is N TH1 not one of the two new theatres that are downstairs in Newman? If you come in the doors on the left facing Arts Cafe, and by the lockers and stuff the steps down are just there?

If that's the place I'm thinking of, I haven't seen wheelchair access from the front of Newman, but would be amazed if there wasn't wheelchair access to it. Maybe pop an email over to student desk or facilities?
