In doing an accouting technican course at the moment and trying to decide wheather to do the ACCA course or join a degree course and go on to teach.

Teaching wuld be my preference. I know at the minite there is an overflow of teachers, can anyone other there tell me how difficult it is to get work, is this something that is likley to ease up by the time I would qualify which would be 3 years at least. ( I can join 3rd year of some degree courses).

Also Im nearly 26 now is that late to be starting out to do teaching?

    Any advice greatly appriciated.

    Thanks

I presume you hope to teach in secondary school?

There is a surplus of secondary teachers generally and restrictions on the numbers of business grads going into teacher training due to oversupply.

The state is still producing as many teachers as ever so the oversupply isn't going to go away any time soon.

If you wan't to earn a liveable income do the ACCA. If you want to scrape by with a meagre income from subbing do the teaching. Accounting is not a very popular subject in secondary school in terms of numbers taking it so you will find it even harder for regular work.

Cant speak to anything else but I know people changing career at 70. OP never let age stop you from doing anything (well with the odd Jimmy Savillesk exception.)
