Passat Oil Light

    Hi,
The Mrs was driving to work this morning and the oil light came on on my 2007 2 litre Tdi Passat. Apparently the oil light came on and a stop message came up on the information screen.
Now the car was only serviced 4000km ago and the oil level seems fine.
Has anyone had any issues with faulty sensors or do they give trouble in cold weather?
I googled it and saw that the earlier model had problems with fraying wires.

    Any advice appreciated...

You need to be very very careful with these. It sounds like you may have encountered the dreaded oil pump drive failure that afflicts the 2.0TDI engine. Where are you located?
