    Hi all,
We've confirmed a venue for this year's Dublin Rebels Superbowl Party - it's Harry's on the Green (used to be Major Tom's).

We're still working on fine-tuning the details, but I can confirm that there'll be cinemas screen(s), loads of TVs for viewing from any vantage point, burgers/hot dogs, drink promotions and cheerleaders doing their thing!

There will be some free food and drink... but I'm waiting to hear how that will work... might be handed out to the first 200 people to arrive or something similar. I'm also trying to sort out a boards.ie promotion, if possible.

Tickets for all this are only €10. Click here to book your ticket now. (Put 'Andy Dennehy' into the field that asks which Dublin Rebels player referred you. This will allow us to find the boardsies for the promotion, if I can sort it!)

For regular updates, check out the Facebook event page here.

I'll also be posting updates in this thread.

    Cheers,
    Andy

At the risk of asking a potentially stupid question....... but will we get to see the entire game, normally it goes on until about 4am and clubs have to shut before that, dont they?

Also - will it be in HD as it wasn't last year in the venue you guys had. Great night though, ill be there this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 228 ✭✭Lothaar v2

We will DEFINITELY be showing the entire game. Definitely.

I don't know if it'll be in HD. We're currently working on all the AV equipment and the plan is to get the best possible setup we can find - projectors, screens, TVs, PAs etc. HD would be ideal, since the game won't be in 3D. Not sure at the moment, though.

Dublin Rebels Superbowl Party Update: I can confirm that we'll have HD on 10 TV screens throughout the venue. We also have a massive 152-inch HD screen, but might replace it with a 10-foot screen that isn't HD. Either way, it'll be a pretty sweet setup.

I'll have some info on drink promos in the coming days. The plan is to have some sort of deals along with some freebies to hand out.

    And... of course:

Stephen's Green Shopping Centre has a car park. The venue is under the shopping centre. There's a flat rate of €6 from 6pm-8am - I think that's in effect on Sundays.

I just found out that there's a slight issue with people using hotmail accounts for buying tickets. Here's the official line:

Please note when you book your tickets online, after a short processing period you will receive an email with your tickets in PDF format. You will need to print off your ticket and bring it with you to gain access to the event. If you have not received your tickets within 24 hours of booking, please check your spam / junk folder. If you experience any problems receiving your tickets email accountsATdublinrebels.com (replace AT with @).

So... you actually SHOULD receive a PDF with a printable ticket containing a barcode (looks like a QR code).

Not just Hotmail, I use Gmail - myself and a few friends that have bought tickets have said the email goes to the spam folder, so it looks like a lot of Email providers will automatically reroute it to the spam/junk folder. Anyone that paid for a ticket yet be sure to check the spam folder in your Email before the email system automatically deletes it!

Went straight to my inbox on gmail, no issues whatsoever.

Update: There are less than 100 tickets left, so get yours now! Only €10. Click here to book your ticket now. (Put 'Andy Dennehy' into the field that asks which Dublin Rebels player referred you. This will allow us to find the boardsies for the promotion, if I can sort it!)

Gweedling - the issue with Hotmail is that some people weren't receiving the email at all. It's working fine on other email providers, to the best of my knowledge, even if it sometimes goes into Junk folders (that sometimes happens with online transactions anyway).

As for the promotions, I'm waiting for final confirmation on the exact drinks promotions we'll be running. I hope to have some news today.

There will be free drink for some ticket holders. This is still TBC, but it'll be the first 250 people through the door or something similar. I think this is what we did last year too... I don't remember giving everyone free drink! I'll confirm that asap.

I can, however, confirm that there will be plenty of this:

Confirmed - the first 200 people through the door will get a free beer on arrival! First come, first served.

I'll be able to announce the plans for the big screen tomorrow.

I'm not sure Adrian, I still may be having some beers in mine.. really depends if i can get Monday off.

Just with the events in Dandelion the food was very expensive for not a whole lot of food...

helimachopter - were you at last year's party? There was a stand down the end of the downstairs bar selling burgers and hot dogs for a few quid (I can't remember the cost, but it was definitely an amount I was happy to pay for a pretty awesome halftime burger). Everyone I spoke to was very happy with them. I personally went back for seconds :)

We're planning on doing the same thing this year. I don't know the costs at the moment - there's a meeting with Harry's tonight that should firm some of this up.

melekalikimaka - no word on pitchers so far. That might have been specific to last year's venue. Either way, I'd like some pitcher action myself! :)

I've received a couple of PMs about buying tickets at the door on the night. Just to confirm - there will be no tickets sold at the door. This event will sell out in the next 24-48 hours and when the tickets are gone, they're gone.

For health and safety reasons we have a cap on the number of tickets we can sell. Please book your ticket asap to ensure you get one.

No i didnt go last year (mainly due to the issues around the food- one small platter for 40 quid, we ordered another and it was massive (no consistency!)) Still finished it though:D

Ah, we were in a different venue last year... and again this year, so you won't have those issues. You can't go wrong with burgers and hot dogs :) (Still TBC, though!)

Just getting over the Super Bowl what a great night I would like to congratulate the Dublin Rebels on running a great event. We arrived just after eight and were able to get a great table with a good view of the projector screen when looked great in hd. I have heard some people complain about to many people in there but i think it just added to the atmosphere never had a problem getting into the toilet or gettting buckets of beer so cant see the problem. Buckets of beer were very handy and keep the beer nice and cold.
What i would like to change is why they were showing some soccer match on all the tvs from 8 to ten given the night that was in it why not show highlights of the division finals as everyone there was for the super bowl. The dj was good but would of like to go to the coverage of the super bowl from 10.30 when it started this is the superbowl you cant have to much of a build up. I dont know why on the facebook page at six that there was a surprise for everyone going to the party and not say what it was. I only found out the next day as he was not near my area. All in all it was organised great with plenty of staff and rebels at the entrance so things went smoothly well done to all and hope to make it again next year

    Thanks for the feedback, Paddy.

Regarding the 'suprise' - Dolphins OT Will Yeatman - there was a picture up on the Rebels Facebook page at about 9pm. It didn't appear on the Facebook page for the event itself, though... just an oversight. The lads were mega-busy trying to keep everything rockin at that stage of the night!

I hope everyone who went had a good time, even though the Niners didn't quite manage to win. :(
