having a problem with no pressure in the heating system....had a rad leak before christmas and got rad changed but now the pressure on the gauge reads .3 bar at max during the day.i think i have found the problem to be the expansion vessel as i attempted to put pressure in and as i connected to the valve ..it pissed water out of it!!!
    system is a potterton ultra2...
any ideas where i can get a new vessel from???
    what kinda money are they??
should be a job for myself do you guys reckon..nothing specialised that i can see

The boiler is a system boiler therefore you cannot change the vessel unless you are RGI.It is illegal for anyone other that a RGI to work on a gas appliance.

    thanks lads...
off out to find one now!!!

ps..robbie,its only an expansion vessel..one pipe connected to it and slide it out from behind the boiler...if i had to mess with gas,i would never touch it but i aint getting a cowboy in to smash up the kitchen and spend 2 days doing a 2 hr max job.
    :(

As it forms part of the boiler it's an RGI job. You could install an external vessel however, it may go against MI's not to have additional expansion within the boiler.

I am we'll aware what an expansion vessel is and how to fit it.You asked for advice and I informed you that under current law you cannot do this work yourself the other option is a s Shane said you could fit one externally. So basically if you don't want advice don't ask for it
