TDI Transporter fault

    hi all,

    A guy is selling an 06 104bhp 1.9 TDI transporter van that the flywheel has gone in it but he says that when this went it stopped and wont start now saying something from flywheel must have jammed it up or something

    anyone any ideas on this

    Yes, what happens is the springs from inside the flywheel come out and get jammed between the flywheel and the gearbox bell housing which prevents the engine from turning over.

    In extreme cases the bell housing can be damaged beyond repair so fingers crossed that is not the case here.

    The fly wheel break up can dump crap into the starter motor as well.

    Massive pain in the rocks.
