Cuba? Where else?

I'm in the process of making a plan for summer travels. Thinking of Cuba. Any advice? I'm looking to go away for about 4 weeks. Where can we (there's 2 of us) go after Cuba? I was looking at the map & Mexico/Jamaica/Florida/Bahamas would be a flight away, but are flights very expensive for these?

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

There's plenty to do in Cuba for four weeks. You'll arrive and depart Havana, so you'd spend a week there. Go west to vinales mountain area for unique flora, fauna, scenes and remote beaches. We went down to Cinfuegos. Sleepy town but beautiful lakes, beaches and waterfall park - infact the best waterfall park I've ever been to. You can swim in the cool fresh water and there's no one around. Lots more colonial towns to dance and eat local food.

When you're done with culture you can hit the all inc hotels on the north coast. We stayed in Cayo coco melia adult only hotel. really nice. We would have loved to go down the south but didn't have the time. 4 weeks would have been perfect.

    Keep an eye on Jetairfly.

Use Matrix airfare to work out some routings:

If you have enough time it might be a good bit cheaper to do an open jaw flight with some days either side of your trip.

Remember, you can't (or at least couldn't) fly from/to Cuba to the US. Mexico would be your best option I would think after Cuba.

Oh .. one other thing, if your Credit Card is operated by a US Bank, EVEN if your card is registered to your home address in Ireland.

It will not work in Cuba.

A good example of this is MBNA, mate of mine had to get money wired via the Dutch Embassy to pay for his hotel etc.

Anyone have any experience with the following company? I'm thinking a guided tour might be easiest for getting around

Can you fly to Mexico & then the US? Trailfinders told us we couldn't if Havana was on our ticket i.e. same airline company ?

    Head to Tobago.

Chill out at Pigeon point in the crystal clear waters of the nylun pool, grab Crab and Dumplings at Store bay, or go to "Sunday School" at Buccoo. Then head up to Speyside and see the Manta rays and amazing birds and sealife.

I'd recommend Playa del carmen in Mexico, just south of Cancun but not as busy. Flights from havana are very reasonable. Very different place to Cuba but makes a good twin holiday in my opinion
