    Hi,

My plumber just installed a new Vokera Linea One boiler and it is cycling full power upto 80 degrees then turning off completely until it drops to say 40 degrees, then on again.

Anyone know why this might be happening? The DHW is working perfectly.

    Thanks,
    James.

It sounds like the Force Burner Parameter is set incorrect. Was the boiler commissioned but just hung on the wall and fired up? Did you notice a flue gas analysis being carried out/print out attached to cert?
This boiler has very adaptable parameters to suit the installation and they could be set up wrong.
It may be worth a call to Vokera Technical to see if it is an commissioning issue or pcb issue as it seems to be avoiding its modulation ability.

The plumber didnt flush the system before hand, depsite the fact I told him multiple times how important it was.

He said he rang vokera, asked them how to open it all up / clean it and its now running perfectly.

What should he be giving me before i pay him....

If that issue was caused by sludge, it will most certainly be back to haunt you.

To put your situation in to prospective if you had a fancy new car out the front and put sand in the engine what impact do you think it would have on your warranty, I dare say the manufactures response would have a "off" in it, if you were to approached them about it.

The installer has allowed the boiler to become contaminated, the manufactures instruction clearly state(with pictures) the installation requirements which include the need for a clean system, it's not rocket science and without a clean system you might as well start saving now for the next boiler.

All is not lost, get it flushed, fit a filter like a magnaclean so you can monitor the cleanliness of the system yourself and then you might have a quite life without a boiler that turns into a money pit a few years down the road.

Are ye serious? He told me he talked to Vokera about it, they told him how to open it up, clean it and it was spotless he said. I asked him about the expansion vessel and he said there's no water in it, but obviously there is some kind of membrane in there, will sludge damage this, will a power flush get rid of it?
