Fiat Punto Heater Problems

The fan/heater in my car stopped working suddenly this morning. It was fine one minute, completely dead the next. Is my best bet to bring this to an auto-electrician? I've not used one before and am not sure what they do exactly. I don't want to waste time bringing it to an ordinary garage first if they won't be able to fix it anyway. Thanks!

It's usually the heater control resistor, easy enough to replace, proly best to google it - there's a lot of guides online on how to replace it. Did you check all the fuses first tho?

As above, found on the bottom of the heater motor in the passenger footwell. 2 screws hold it on

£70 for a new one from Fiat

I used to know how to fix them with a soldering iron, but can't for the life of me remember how(I actually struggled a bit to remember where exactly they were located:D It's been a while..

Usually caused by condensation, it shorts the contacts ont the unit. That's what happened to me!
